✓ Using a tomahawk/hands-together technique to send the ball over the net.
✓ Receiving the ball with open hands, provided the contact is legal and the ball does not cross back over the net.

Each team is allowed one 30-second timeout per set.
Net Violation

Lift / Illegal Contact
A lift occurs when the ball is caught, held, or thrown, including improper underhand contact.
Legal Underhand Contact

✓ Single-forearm pass
✓ Closed-fist pass
Illegal Underhand Contact

21 POINTS
Games are played to 21 points with no point cap.
Teams must win by 2.
25 POINTS • CAPPED
First team to 25 wins.
No win-by-2 requirement.
15 POINTS • CAPPED
First team to 15 wins.
Teams switch sides at 8 points.
No win-by-2 requirement.
Games are 40 minutes of running time.
The clock begins with the first serve and runs continuously. Timeouts do not stop the clock.
Teams are responsible for starting the timer promptly.
If the timer is not started, 3 minutes will be deducted for every 5 combined points scored when the missing timer is discovered.
Example:
Score: 7–10 = 17 total points
15 of those points represent three complete 5-point increments.
3 increments × 3 minutes = 9-minute deduction
The adjusted game time becomes 31 minutes.
If time expires during a rally, finish the rally.
Once the rally ends, no additional serve may be made. The game is over regardless of the score.
Teams receive a 5-minute grace period beginning at the scheduled game time or when the court becomes available.
If a team is still unable to field a legal lineup, it has an additional 10 minutes before the match is declared a forfeit.
After the initial 5-minute grace period, the opposing team may be awarded 1 point for each additional minute of delay.
To use substitute players to avoid a forfeit:
At least 2 original rostered players must be present.
A team may then use up to 2 substitute players.
